Originally from Atlantic Canada and now based in Alberta, JF has spent decades writing and performing music. He released two albums under the names JFR Project and JFR in 2009 and 2014, before experiencing a defining personal transformation in 2018 when he gave his life to Christ. That moment reshaped not only his worldview, but the way he approached his music. Today, JF's songwriting explores faith, struggle, redemption, surrender, and hope, combining gritty guitars, soaring melodies, and honest storytelling. His latest release, “Sundress,” reveals a lighter side of JF's songwriting—a nostalgic summer pop-rock song about connection, freedom, and holding onto a beautiful moment. The single has surpassed 27,000 streams on Spotify, marking a strong response to this new chapter of his music. JF's earlier work also reached national audiences, including a French-language rock single that broke into the Top 10 of Canada's BDS charts and earned more than 4,000 radio spins. Whether delivering driving rock anthems or reflective, faith-centered songs, JF Roy creates music that bridges rock energy with spiritual authenticity, offering listeners hope, honesty, and light in the darkness.
